A FREE SCENIC LOOKOUT
June 2016 | By Fernanda Aguiar
While you are visiting Montevideo don't miss the lookout point at the City Hall. From the Mirador, you can view almost every important place in the town. At the top of the building you will find some benchs where you can rest and signs to learn about the most important buildings you can see from up there.
Once you enter the main building you can take the elevator to the 25th floor. The lift is an experience in itself because it is made of glass - not for those scared of heights!
It is open to the public from 10am to 4pm everyday. It is completely free but you have to ask for the free ticket at the counter just before you go outside (it's just a control mechanism!).
The great building that houses the offices of the municipal government is located at 18 de Julio 1352-1360 between Ejido and Santiago de Chile Streets.
Enjoy the view!
